"My shows are like my children. It is what I like the most in my job" like to
repeat Sylvie Vartan since she has put her feet on a stage more than 40 years ago. It was at
the famous Olympia hall in Paris.

First France's number one female entertainer, first female rock'n'roll singer in the history of
French variety, Sylvie Vartan was greeted by the American press as "the most beautiful gift from
France since the statue of liberty"!

From the Olympia hall to the Palais des Congrès or Palais des Sports, from Paris to Tokyo via Las
Vegas, Montreal or Rio, Sylvie Vartan had offered to her public for the past four decades splendid
and sumptuous spectacles combining music and dance with spectacular effects.

From her beginning steps at the Olympia hall in 1961 - where she sang in duet the French
adaptation of the American hit "Out of gas" with singer Frankie Jordan - to her great
performances for the thirty past years, this website will take you to the discovery or rediscovery
of Sylvie's magnificent scenic career. In thousands of rare pictures, audio files and videos, you
will also find press reviews, dates of tours or the various teams having accompanied Sylvie, etc.

Along the headings, live again mythical spectacles like this famous one at the Olympia hall in
1970 when, for the first time in French show business history, a singer performed a show mixing
pop music and choreography. Also revive her first great show at the Palais des Congrès in 1975
when Sylvie gained definitely her star statute. She was the first female artist to produce a show
in this brand new hall in Paris. Everybody predicted her a failure; it was a triumph followed by
many others. What about this show at the Palais des Sports in 1981 where not less than 200'
000 people acclaimed Sylvie. This show will give her the opportunity to make her U.S. debut in
Las Vegas a few month later. Without forgetting her very moving and touching return in Sofia
(Bulgaria) after 40 years by exile, her "reunion" with the Olympia hall in 1996, her "Century
Tour" in 1999 or her many Japanese tours.

This website has been created by three Sylvie Vartan fan's (2 Swiss and 1 French) who met each
other during Sylvie's tour in 1996. The purpose of this site is to share with you or documents in
order to present the eclecticism of this exceptional artist.
